# PGA Lineup Optimizer

## A step-by-step guide to building optimized DFS golf lineups

### Step 1 - Understand the Stats

The lineup builder pulls stats and prices directly from DraftKings:

| Stat | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **FPPG** | Fantasy points per game |
| **T10s** | Top 10 finishes |
| **CUTS** | Cuts made |
| **AVG** | Scoring average |

It also calculates advanced stats to give you an edge:

| Stat | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **HST** | History score — recency-weighted performance at the same course, from PGA Tour historical data; if the course hasn't hosted a recent event, results from past editions of the same tournament are used instead, even when those were played at different courses |
| **VAL** | Value score — fantasy points per $1K of salary, to find underpriced golfers |
| **FRM** | Recent form — recency-weighted performance across the last 5 tournaments played |
| **CON** | Consistency — percentage of current-season events where the golfer finished in the top half of the field |
| **COMBO** | Combo score — combine any stats into a single score to find golfers who excel across multiple categories |

The player table has four views: **DraftKings Stats**, **Advanced Stats**, **Recent Results**, and **Course History**. For the full picture on any golfer, click the launch icon to open the detail modal. It shows everything in one place.

### Step 2 - Configure Settings

Open the settings panel to configure:

- Lineup Limit (0-150)
- Salary Threshold (decrease to see more lineup combinations)
- Combo stats — choose which stats make up the combo score (e.g. VAL + FPPG + CUTS to find efficient, high-scoring golfers who consistently make the cut)

### Step 3 - Select Golfers

You can pick golfers manually from the player table, or use **Auto Optimize** to get a head start. Auto Optimize builds top lineups from the entire field for your chosen stat, then pre-selects the golfers who appear most frequently.

From there, fine-tune your selections. Add or remove golfers and lineups update in real time. Sort lineups by any stat to surface the best combinations.

### Step 4 - Confirm Exposure

Use the visualize view to confirm exposure to each golfer. Spread exposure evenly to limit risk, or concentrate on your top picks for a higher-ceiling strategy.

### Step 5 - Save the Lineups You Like

Changing your golfer selections or running Auto Optimize again rebuilds the lineup grid from scratch. To hang on to a lineup, click the save icon on its card. Saved lineups appear in the **Saved Lineups** view, where they stay put no matter how many times you re-optimize, and they survive a page reload. Each contest keeps its own saved list in your browser.

Every saved card is tagged with the stat it was built from, so a lineup you optimized by FORM is still recognizable after you switch to COMBO. Remove one with the delete icon, or clear the whole list from the **Saved lineups** item in the reset button's menu.

### Step 6 - Export Lineups .csv File

The export button offers two downloads, your current lineups or your saved ones. Pick one and download a .csv file ready to be [imported to DraftKings](https://lineupdrafter.com/draftkings-lineup-upload) .
